Supreme Court Justice, BC Court of Appeal

Justice Lauri Ann Fenlon was appointed to the B.C. Supreme Court in 2008, and to the BC Court of Appeal and the Court of Appeal for Yukon in 2015. She grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, attended Queen’s University, and then moved west, obtaining her law degree from the University of Victoria in 1983. Justice Fenlon clerked for the Supreme Court of Canada in 1983-84 and was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1985. She articled and practiced civil litigation with what is now Fasken Martineau DuMoulin from 1984 until her appointment to the bench. Justice Fenlon has been a presenter and is now co-chair of the New Federally Appointed Judges program. She is past President of the Justice Education Society and an instructor in the UBC Law Faculty’s Advanced Trial Advocacy course.
